Now that you've mixed your perfect formula, it’s time to mist like a pro. But first—prep is everything.

 

Be sure to exfoliate 24 hours before tanning to remove dry skin and old product buildup. This helps your tan go on smoother and last longer. (Need a refresher? Check out our prep guide here.)

 Application Tips:

• Start at the bottom: Begin with your feet and work your way up. This helps avoid creasing or smudging as you move.

• Hold your machine 6–8 inches from the skin. Too close = blotchy. Too far = uneven. Find that sweet spot.

• Mist in long, even strokes. Slightly overlap each pass to ensure full, even coverage.

• Apply in sections: Do legs, then torso, then arms—don’t rush it. Take your time and blend as you go.

 

Avoid:

• Spraying your palms, soles, elbows, knees, and hairline directly—those areas tend to grab too much color.

• Water, sweat, and tight clothes for 8–12 hours after application. Let your tan fully develop before rinsing.

 

Pro Tips:

• Use a blending mitt, brush, or beauty sponge to soften any edges (especially around wrists and ankles).

• Air dry or use a cool fan to help set the product before getting dressed.

• Wear loose, dark clothing after your tan to avoid transfer.
